Reality strikes again! ‘Renigunta’ is another movie that revolves around a real-life incident.

From the title to the movie’s crew, everything has a touch of novelty. Panneerselvam, the debut director of the film, was once upon a time assistant of director Lingusamy. The lead pair, Jhonny and Sanusha, is also new on screen, though Sanusha has experience working in the Malayalam industry. The movie includes 5 songs, composed by Ganesh Ragavendra, also a first timer in the cine field. The director gives a gist about the storyline saying that it is about five young boys who escape from Madurai juvenile jail to Mumbai and on the way gets down at this place, Renigunta. What happens to the youngsters there forms the crux of the story. And, hence the reason of choosing the title for the movie. The story, as the director puts it, had in fact happened in his home town. The shooting took place continuously in a 112 day schedule.

Bannered under Hero Film Fabricates, ‘Renigunta’ is produced by Mahendrakumar Jain.
